Animal Experiences are available on any day during our open season but MUST be pre booked and the date secured with a deposit. Dates are subject to availability. Any accompanying guests/supervisors with the experience participants need to pay the standard admission to the park and are only able to observe from the public viewing areas.
Once a deposit is paid and a date secured, 48 hours notice will be required to cancel your booking or amend the date. Less than 48 hours notice and your deposit may not be refunded. For experiences involving camel rides, rides cannot take place if it is raining heavily so we may need to contact you at short notice (even on the day) to reschedule if the weather forecast is not supportive. In these cases we will do all we can to accommodate a new date but a refund would not be available.
For experiences involving camel rides – Riding hats must be worn by all those taking part in camel rides. There is an upper weight limit on camel rides of 15 stone. You need a certain amount of physical agility and balance in order to be able to ride the camels, riding involves being able to climb stairs on the mounting block, lower yourself onto the camel, balance and hold on to the saddle safety handles and swing your leg over the animal to get on/off. If there is any doubt in your ability to achieve this we recommend that you do not book an experience involving camel rides.
The minimum age limit for most of our experiences is 8 years. The Camel Safari Experience may be possible for smaller children but note that children under 3 years cannot ride the camels and children 3 to 7 years must ride with an adult. Therefore please ensure that you bring enough adult supervision within your group or as additional guests to ensure children are properly supervised whilst on site.
Some of the activities as part of our animal experiences involve a certain amount of food for the animals. This is carefully measured and controlled in line with the participating animals care plan and therefore we cannot offer more food than is allocated to the activity.
All of our experiences are for a minimum of 2 people. Larger groups of more than 4 people may be accommodated but we reserve the right to split the group into smaller groups if we feel it necessary and divide any allocated food accordingly.
Please advise at the time of booking if anyone taking part has any additional needs including dietary requirements, mobility issues, pregnancy or other requirement which may mean we have to change or adapt the experience. Please note that, due to the design and layout of some enclosures and physical requirements of some activities, wheelchair users can only be accommodated in our Lemur Encounter.
Every effort will be made to accommodate individual needs wherever possible including physical and learning disabilities however due to the nature of the experiences, we have to consider health and safety and animal welfare at all times. Those with allergies, pregnant woman or individuals immunocompromised may not be permitted to take part in some or all of the activities, if you have any questions regarding this please email info@oasiscamelpark.co.uk to discuss further.
We are committed to the protection and safeguarding of children. All experiences are designed so that an adult can supervise anyone under 18 whether the adult is taking part in the activity or not. We do not believe our experiences would therefore fall under the Governments definition of regulated activity on the supervision of workers when working with children. Therefore we require all those under 18 to be accompanied to the park to ensure proper supervision.
We reserve the right to alter an experience on any given day due to animal welfare, health issues or an issue which means the planned experience cannot go ahead. We will however endeavour to offer another similar activity in replacement.
